Procurement Policy

NPR-Riken group carry outs procurement management in accordance with the procurement policy.

NPR-Riken group, as a global company, strictly complies with the group’s Code of Conduct as well as relevant laws and regulations, and promote open and fair procurement activities that give due consideration to human rights and the environment, in order to ensure proper procurement that seeks to coexist and co-prosper with our business partners.

1. Fair and transparent purchasing transactions We comprehensively evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors of goods and services from the perspectives of price-competitiveness, quality, delivery time, environmental impact, CSR initiatives, and business continuity. In addition, we comply with relevant laws and regulations concerning commercial transactions applicable in the countries and regions where our business activities are carried out, and do not enforce unreasonable transactions in the background of our superior position.

2. Legal Compliance We conduct procurement activities in compliance with laws, social norms, and corporate ethics, and give sufficient consideration to human rights, health, safety, and environmental protection. We also pay careful attention to the handling of confidential information obtained through procurement activities.

3. Building partnerships We build new partnerships by promoting coexistence and co-prosperity with each supplier in the supply chain and with companies that create values.

4. Reduction of environmental impact (promotion of green procurement) Recognizing that preservation of the global environment is an important issue common to all mankind, we procure parts, raw materials, equipment, etc. with low environmental impact, including carbon neutrality.

5. Responsible Mineral Procurement It is feared that mineral resources mined in conflict areas and high-risk areas have become funding sources of human rights infringement, disputes, etc. by armed forces. From the perspective of CSR procurement, we recognize this conflict mineral issue as an important issue in the supply chain. With the aim of procurement without the use of mineral resources mined in conflict areas and high-risk areas, we conduct annual surveys on the response of each supplier to responsible mineral procurement based on the policy of customers and the industries including the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association. Currently, no procurement of mineral resources related to human rights violations or other fraud has been confirmed.
